How we work
Useful information. Honest context.
LankaLiving publishes independent travel information about Sri Lanka. These standards guide our articles and future updates.
Research and attribution
We favour primary sources such as official tourism bodies, heritage organizations, transport providers and venue operators for factual claims. We link to relevant sources so readers can check the context. Planning suggestions are identified as editorial advice, not promises from an operator.
Firsthand experience and AI assistance
AI tools help organize research and draft content. We do not invent trips, interviews, reviews, quotations or credentials. If an article does not explicitly describe a verified firsthand visit, read it as a researched guide. Local contributions should identify when and how details were checked.
Changing information
Opening hours, fares, access rules and services can change. We avoid presenting unverified prices as current. Research dates describe when sources were checked; they do not guarantee that every detail remains unchanged. Substantive changes should be reflected in an article’s update note.
Images
We use original or appropriately licensed images, with credits where relevant. Illustrations should not be represented as photographs of real travel experiences. A stock photograph does not establish a personal visit.
Advertising and commercial relationships
Advertisements must be distinguishable from articles and navigation. Sponsored content and affiliate links must be disclosed near the relevant material. We do not sell undisclosed positive coverage or encourage readers to click advertisements to support the site.
Corrections
To flag an issue, use our contact page. Include the article URL, the disputed detail and supporting information. We assess corrections on the evidence and amend material errors.
